报告人简介：Xuejun Jiang博士🍔，1993年获得复旦大学生物化学专业硕士学位，1999年获得美国Texas大学Southwestern Medical Center药理学博士学位👨🏽‍🍳，并在该医学中心有多年博士后经历，主要研究程序性细胞死亡方面的分子机制。2003年起转到美国Memorial Sloan – Kettering癌症中心细胞生物学部任研究助理，2009年起提升为副教授，同时担任美国Cornell大学Weill Medical College副教授，2013年晋升为正教授🥜。

 

报告摘要：In this seminar, Dr. Jiang will present their work on the regulation and function of PTEN tumor suppressor, as well as cancer therapeutic relevance of their findings. Genetic mutation and deletion of PTEN have been established as strong tumorigenic drivers. However, how this master cellular regulator per se is modulated posttranslationally is not well defined. Dr. Jiang's group identified ubiquitin ligase NEDD4 as a novel oncogenic regulator for PTEN, and found that NEDD4 only dictates PTEN function under certain specific biological contexts, such as IGF/insulin signaling. They further made an unexpected discovery showing that PTEN can also function as a protein phosphatase (commonly known as a lipid phosphatase) and thus modulate both cell proliferation and metabolism in IGF signaling. Finally, this work provides insights into potential personalized cancer therapy by targeting NEDD4.
